I came across this video this weekend. At first it sounds a bit dry, probably more dry than your high school science teacher! But as I paid closer attention to what this research reveals, I became very excited! The uterus has a particular rhythm of contractions that changes, depending on the time of the month. And even more interesting, if this rhythm is out of order, it can affect menstruation and fertility. Moreover, understanding the very existence of this rhythm sheds a whole new light on why one of the therapies I offer to patients (Maya Abdominal Therapy, aka ATMAT) can be so profoundly effective in helping women to resolve menstrual complaints and fertility issues. Amazing!
